Winter Weather On the Way

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire region through Monday afternoon. Snow, some heavy at times will work through the region over the next 24 to 36 hours.  Looks like even into Tuesday some snow showers may linger.  Accumulations are likely and in some cases may exceed 5 to 9" across parts of the region.  Look for some colder air to move in for the beginning of the week as well with temperatures in the 20s for highs.

PSU Altoona honors Martin Luther King Jr.

By: WJAC Web Staff

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Events to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. kicked off at the Penn State Altoona campus.

The 5th annual reflection luncheon had a keynote speaker Craig Dietz.

Dietz said our nation has come a long way since Kings iconic I Have a Dream speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial where people are learning not to judge one another on superficial characteristics.

Not to judge people based on those differences to not judge people based on the fact that they may look a little different than us, said keynote speaker Craig Dietz. We as a community as a while benefit when everybody is able to see past that.

More than 150 people brought canned food and donations for the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry.

Dr. King would have turned 85 this month.
