Warming shelter being held in Portage

By: WJAC Web Staff

PORTAGE, Pa. -- With cold temperatures staying put Cambria County officials are making sure no one goes without a warm place to stay.

An emergency shelter is to be open around the clock with at least one person from the township staffed inside.

We have cots and we encourage residents to bring their own pillows and blankets if they need to stay here, said Portage Volunteer Firefighter Jamie Miller.

A few items like coffee and hot chocolate is to be available but if more is needed the Red Cross are able to help.
