Route 22 re-opens in Cambria Co. following crash

By: Marc Stempka

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A busy roadway in Cambria County has re-opened following a tractor-trailer crash Monday morning.

Officials said a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Route 22 in Jackson Township when the truck crashed through a median while driving down Dishong Mountain and collided with another truck traveling eastbound. The tractor-trailer then jackknifed in the eastbound lanes.

The crash happened at about 9 a.m., official said. The roadway re-opened shortly after 11 a.m.

A tractor-trailer crash has closed part of Route 22 in Cambria County and a detour has been established for motorists.

A detour was put in place by PennDOT while crews worked to remove the wreckage.

PennDOT advised motorists to slow down and allow for extra travel time Monday because of deteriorating roadway conditions caused by snow and winter weather.

Several minor accidents have been reported throughout the viewing area due to poor road conditions.

Numerous schools have delayed, closed or dismissed students early because of the weather.
