SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Multiple crews were called the scene of a house fire that may have been caused by an explosion at a home in Clearfield County.

Neighbors at the scene told 6 News reporter Deven Clarke that they heard what may have been some kind of explosion at the time the house fire started.

The house is in the 1600 block of Caribbean Road in the Treasure Lake area of Sandy Township.

Officials at the scene said two people living inside, a man and a woman, were able to escape the fire. Additional details about the incident and the names of those involved were not immediately available.

The woman was seen being taken away from the scene by medical personnel.

Neighbor Claire Delaney said she felt was seemed to be like a strong explosion.

"I just heard this loud explosion and my whole house shook, and that's when I realized something was wrong" Delaney said. "I heard all the sirens and thought it was an accident on 80, so then I looked out my window and saw the flames."

Several fire crews from Clearfield and Jefferson counties were called to the scene to assist.
