REPORT: O'Brien and Texans working towards deal

By Ashley Chase, 6 Sports (Citing ESPN, NFL Network)

ESPNs Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter are reporting that Penn State football head coach Bill OBrien and the Houston Texans are working to have a deal in place within the next week.

Thursday evening NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported an interview was scheduled between OBrien and the Texans, who fired Gary Kubiak in early December.

Saturdays report from ESPN says that OBrien had emerged as the overwhelming favorite to become the next coach of the Houston Texans.

League sources are credited as saying the two sides are working to get a deal in place within the next week.

6 Sports reached out to Penn State Sports Information Director Jeff Nelson after the ESPN report was released. Nelson said the university has nothing to say at this time.
