I-80 reopens after morning closures in Clearfield Co.

Delays may linger along detour routes

By: Marc Stempka

CLEARFIELD, Pa.-- PennDOT officials said Interstate 80 in Clearfield County has reopened following closures Tuesday morning caused by winter weather conditions.

The east and westbound lanes reopened to traffic at about 11:30 a.m. They had been closed in different areas due to poor conditions.

I-80 was first closed westbound in the Clearfield area between Clearfield and Rockton at about 6 a.m.

I-80 eastbound was then closed from DuBois to Clearfield later in the morning due to deteriorating conditions.

Some detour routes may see residual delays until traffic dissipates early in the afternoon, officials said.

The interstate closure prompted significant delays on other local highways and roadways.
