Bomb threat found at Cambria Co. high school

Bomb sniffing K-9 searched buiding, finding nothing

By: Marc Stempka

EBENSBURG, Pa. -- Officials with the Central Cambria School District confirmed a bomb threat was found at the high school Wednesday.

Central Cambria Superintendent Vincent DiLeo said the written threat was found in a boys bathroom at the high school.

DiLeo said once district administrators were notified of the threat, a thorough search of the building was conducted with nothing being found.

Following school dismissal, a bomb sniffing K-9 was brought in as an added precaution to also search the school, and again nothing was found, DiLeo said.

DiLeo said district officials planned to review surveillance video from the school to aid in finding the person responsible for placing the threat.

After-school activities did continue as normal because no specific threat was made, DiLeo said.

No information was released about the contents of the threat. DiLeo said schools in the district would be open as usual on Thursday.
