Event to support injured state trooper

DUBOIS, Pa. -- The support circle for the Pennsylvania state trooper who was shot a few weeks ago near Brockway continues to grow.

Some of his friends in DuBois have organized a fundraiser to show Trooper Bradley Wilson and his family how much they care.

The V.F.W. post on Fuller Street in DuBois will host the event on October 20, from 12 to 6 p.m.

Wilson was shot in the neck and collar bone when he was part of a team serving a search warrant near Brockway.  Police said Kenneth Lees Sr. shot Wilson before killing himself.

It's going to be a steak dinner, said organizer Ernie Moore.  We're having New York strip steak, baked potato, garlic bread and corn.  All the money is going to go to his family (to help with) traveling back and forth, lodging and stuff like that.

Each plate is $12.  Moore said over 600 steaks have been ordered and they have 200 more on reserve.
