Road renamed after WWII hero, Johnstown native

A Johnstown native received a special honor Saturday afternoon. Lieutenant Colonel B.D. Buzz Wagner was a WWII flying ace and a home town boy.

After a lot of support from lawmakers and family, he was honored by a road named after him Saturday. Airport Road in Richland and Conemaugh Townships is officially now known as the Buzz Wagner Memorial Highway.

Wagner shot down eight Japanese airplanes over the Philippines during the war. He died after his plane went down in November of 1942.
