Philipsburg apartment fire leaves 5 families without home

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. --

A fire ripped through a Centre County apartment building and left five families without a home.

Theres minimal damage to the outside of the Philipsburg apartment building, but Hope Fire Company said it was caused by an electrical issue inside one of the apartments.

The building has 8 apartments total, but only five were rented. The blaze also caused some damage to the roof.

Everyone is staying with relatives, except for one family who's being helped by the Red Cross.

It was under control in about two and half hours. No one was hurt.
