By Marc Stempka

MILES TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- State Police at Rockview said a Centre County teenager was injured after his SUV crashed into a field and overturned.

Police said Kody Poorman, 18, of Bellefonte, swerved to miss hitting a deer while driving on Route 192 near Egg Drive in Miles Township around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Poorman missed the deer, but turned the SUV in to a field, where the vehicle became airborne after hitting an embankment.

The SUV overturned once and landed upright approximately 50 feet from the roadway, police said.

Poorman was wearing his seat belt and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.
