Small business leaders talk growth and opportunities

By: WJAC Web Staff

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Business leaders from across Cambria County gathered to discuss small business expansion and economic opportunities throughout the Johnstown area.

Johnstown Area Regional Industries held the Small Business Opportunities and Resources Forum Friday morning at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Dozens of business leaders heard about the opportunities and help that is available to help build and expand their enterprises.

JARI President Linda Thompson said there was a strong response from attendees at last years forum, so it was easy to determine a second event would be needed.

"If [business leaders] get one or two tips of some help with their capability summary or marketing materials, anything that we can do to help make them better, [that makes] a well-received outcome for today," Thompson said.

Some of the presenters discussed best practices for businesses to build their marketing potential to sell products in the government and private sectors.

The event was held at the Living and Learning Center on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown campus.
