Centre County United Way celebrates exceeding fundraising goal

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa.-- The Centre County United Way had much to celebrate Monday, as they announced their total fundraising numbers.  The organization exceeded their goal and raised $2,149,146 in this years campaign. More than 200 supporters were in attendance as the United Way leaders thanked the volunteers who share their time and talent for the benefit of the community.

Without the help of people who donated to us we could not do this work and we are so appreciate of it. Some people gave $25, some gave $1,000 some gave more, but it all added up to make it a success and that over 69,000 people who needed help in Centre County got it, Tammy Gentzel executive director said.

The Centre County United Way funds more than 100 programs through 34 health and human service partner agencies throughout the county.
