Blair Co. man arrested for allegedly dealing cocaine

By: WJAC Web Staff

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Police in Blair County have arrested a man they said was selling cocaine in the Altoona area.

Altoona police and agents with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation said Lamont Derique Valentine, 29, of Altoona, was arrested Wednesday after agents searched his 8th Avenue home because of an ongoing investigation into cocaine distribution in the area.

Valentine had approximately 4 ounces of powered and crack cocaine at his home and $3,000 in cash, police said. The street value of the drugs was at least $10,000.

Police said Valentine is on probation in Philadelphia and that the investigation into the cocaine distribution is ongoing and additional charges will likely be filed.

The investigation was funded through Operation Our Town, police said. Without that ongoing support, investigators said, this investigation may not have been possible.

Valentine was placed in the Blair County Prison on $25,000 bond and faces drug delivery charges.
