Crews battle house fire in Cambria Co.

By: WJAC Web Staff

VINTONDALE, Pa. -- Several fire companies spent hours working to control and put out a house fire in Cambria County, but the weather made the fire fight difficult.

A Cambria County Emergency Dispatch supervisor said crews were first called to a house fire at about 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Main Street in Vintondale Monday.

Crews at the scene reported difficulty with hose lines freezing because of the cold weather, officials said.

There were people living in the home, which also has the address for Gary's Auto Garage, but everyone made it out of the home without injury.

Crews were called back to the scene at about 7 a.m. Tuesday for a small rekindle.

Firefighters from Dauntless, East Conemaugh, Jackson Township and Nanty Glo were called to the scene to assist Vintondale.
