Centre County leaders meet with Lieutenant Governor

By: Lauren Hensley

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Business leaders from Centre County met Monday for a round table-table discussion with Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley.

The discussion focused on how to create more jobs and a stronger economy in the Centre region. The idea is for local leaders to share their opinions with the hope the lieutenant governor will bring those ideas to Harrisburg.

"What I find most valuable in these meetings is rather than we in Harrisburg hoping that whatever programs we might come up with are going to be helpful in creating more jobs opportunities that we meet with the job creators themselves, the folks that are doing the work and ask them what is it that," Cawley said.

The roundtable also focused on the growth of Penn State as well as the future of Marcellus Shale in the Pennsylvania.
