Penn State football welcomes 2014 recruiting class

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State University football program welcomed a new batch of recruits to their ranks as part of college football's national signing day.

Penn State head coach James Franklin welcomed Wednesday the 20 student-athletes who signed letters of intent to join the program, the university said in a release. Eleven of those are offensive and nine of them are defensive players. Those 20 join five others who enrolled in classes last month.

Penn State's class of 2014 are from 12 difference states, including signees from Alabama, California, Delaware, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Franklin will be meeting with the media at 4 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the recruiting class.
