Woman uses butcher knife in attempted robbery

By: WJAC Web Staff

SOUTH FORK, Pa. -- The manager of a small convenience store in Cambria County said a woman tried to rob the place by using a butcher knife.

The manager of the South Fork News said a woman walked into the store with a butcher knife at about 7:30 p.m. Monday and went behind the counter.

The manager said the cashier screamed and possibly scared off the would-be robber, who ran away.

No injuries were reported and police were reviewing surveillance video from the store, the manager said. There wasnt a good description of the woman because she had her face hidden behind a scarf.

South Fork police are investigating the robbery, but were not available for comment Monday afternoon.
