Man dies from injuries sustained in Clearfield Co. crash

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Clearfield County man died following injuries he sustained in a crash on Thursday, state police reported.

State police at Clearfield said Robert Ferguson, 64, of Morrisdale, died Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona following injuries he sustained from crash in Morris Township earlier in the day.

Police said Ferguson lost control of his vehicle on Deer Creek Road near Rocky Hill Road at about 12:45 p.m. because of wet roadway conditions. Police said Fergusons pickup truck struck an embankment and tree in the crash.

Ferguson was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters, but was conscious and alert at the scene before being transported to UPMC Altoona, police said.

Just before 8 p.m., police received notification from the Blair County coroners office that Ferguson died from complications due to injuries from the crash.
