Police find suspect at home

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- State police said footprints left in the snow helped track down a man who tried to break into a Clearfield-area business.

State police at Clearfield said Jason Andre Hand, 35, of Clearfield, tried to break in to the Florian Banquet Center on Mill Street in Lawrence Township at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday but when an alarm sounded, he abandoned his attempt to burglarize the business.

Police said responding troopers checked the area around the business and found footprints that led to Hands residence.

Police said Hand was placed in the Clearfield County prison on $50,000 bond and was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
