Third floor of Johnstown house damaged by fire

An early Saturday morning fire tore through a Johnstown house and the cause is now in the hands of a state fire marshal.

Johnstown Fire Department was called to this duplex on Iolite Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

The assistant fire chief said crews were able to get to the fire quickly and kept it contained primarily to the attic and third floor of the house.

He said the family's belongings did suffer some damage, though. It turned into a three alarm blaze, but no one was hurt.
