PATTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. Police in Centre County were investigating after a woman found two men unconscious in a Patton Township home.

In a criminal complaint filed by Patton Township police, a woman living at a home that she shares with Erik Speight found him and another man, Jackie Hunter, unconscious at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the roommate told them she returned to the home on Douglas Drive at about 9 p.m. Monday to put her children to bed when she told police she believed Speight and Hunter were going to leave to possibly buy alcohol and marijuana.

Police said the roommate said later that night Hunter and Speight returned to the home and went to the upper floor of the house. The roommate later also went upstairs with the men and told police she knew the two men were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, police said.

Police said the roommate left the two men and went to the basement of the home to go to bed. When she woke up and went to check on the two Tuesday morning, thats when she found the men unconscious.

Police said Hunter was pronounced dead at the home by the Centre County coroners office. Speight was taken to an area hospital.

Police said they obtained a search warrant for the home and found more than 30 bags of heroin, a stolen gun and other drugs and paraphernalia throughout the house.

Police filed charges against Speight for drug possession, firearms possession and receiving stolen property.

Court records show Speight was placed in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bond and has a court hearing scheduled later in October.
