1 suspect arrested in connection with police chase

By: WJAC Web Staff

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. --

A man suspected of being involved in a police chase on Sunday was arrested at a methadone clinic Monday morning.

Police said they were able to track the man down at a clinic in Richland Township. When the man realized police were after him, police said, he and a woman tried to escape through a back door then ran across Scalp Avenue.

Police took both the man and the woman into custody in the former Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot. Police said they believe at least one of them was involved in a police chase on Sunday and both were transported to the Conemaugh Township Police Department for questioning.

On Sunday, Conemaugh Township police in Somerset County said two men led them on a pursuit in the Johnstown area. Police had spotted a car matching the description of a vehicle used in a burglary that happened on Tire Hill Road earlier Sunday.

Police said the men refused to stop and the chase continued onto Ferndale Avenue, where the driver crashed. Both the driver and passenger ran away; police dogs were brought in to track them with no success on Sunday.

The suspects' names had not been released as of noon Monday. Stay with 6 News and WJACTV.com for continuing coverage as details become available.
