Steelers WR Antonio Brown named AFC Offensive Player of Week
PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Brown had 10 receptions for 144 yards and three touchdowns in the Steelers’ 40-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans Thursday at Heinz Field.
Brown joined John Stallworth as the only two players in Steelers’ history to score three receiving touchdowns in two separate games.
“It’s something special,” Brown told the team's website. “Anytime you play with a guy like (quarterback) Ben (Roethlisberger) in a prime time setting, you know the playmaking ability is going to be up. You know the splash plays are going to be there, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
This marks the second time that Brown has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week in his career.
He also has been named AFC Player of the Month and AFC Special Teams Player of the Week three times in his career.
