Olympic runner snags gold medal by diving across finish line
WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - 400 meter runner Shaunae Miller took her competition to the next level Monday night in Rio, diving head-first across the finish line to take home a gold medal.
The 22-year-old Bahamas runner won by .07 seconds, leaving U.S. runner Allyson Felix with a silver win.
"I don't know what happened. My mind just went blank," Miller told the Associated Press.
"The only thing I was thinking (about) was the gold medal, and the next thing I know, I was on the ground."
She logged a time of 49.44 seconds.
