Updated: Saturday, February 15 2014, 12:12 AM EST

JOHNSTOWN -- Winners of eight straight games and without a loss since January 3, Michigan came into the Cambria County War Memorial Arena on Friday as the hottest team in the North American Hockey League.

It took the Johnstown Tomahawks 11 minutes to cool off the Warriors.

Johnstown's Matt Meier scored with nine minutes remaining in the first period, Josh Bowes followed that goal up later in the period, and the Tomahawks dominated Michigan 5-0 to move within three points of the Warriors in the North Division standings.
