Athletes from Chestnut Ridge, State College, Philipsburg, North Star sign collegiate letters

Due to Wednesday's school closings, numerous local athletes held ceremonies Thursday after signing their National Letters of Intent. Chestnut Ridge senior Beau Bosch signed to play defensive end at Lafayette, choosing the Leopards over Bucknell and Princeton.

Philipsburg-Osceola's Curtis Matsko will play on Shippensburg's defensive line, while teammate Nick Boumerhi was asked by Penn State James Franklin to walk-on to the Nittany Lions as a kicker.

Multiple State College High School athletes celebrates their decisions. Senior quarterback Patrick Irwin decided on Stony Brook University on Long Island. Teammate Adam DeBoeuf will attend Penn State as a preferred walk-on. He can play on either the offensive line or defensive line.

North Star's Austin Swihura will play soccer at Saint Francis University. He scored 25 goals and tallied 25 assists in leading the Cougars to the District 5 championship.
