13th ranked Lady Lions run past Minnesota

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Maggie Lucas scored a team-high 25 points to lead the #13/13 Penn State Lady Lions (15-4, 6-1 Big Ten) to a runaway 30-point blowout win over Minnesota (13-8, 2-5) by a final of 83-53.

Lucas got off to a great start, scoring 15 of her 25 points in the first half. The senior shot 7-of-15 from the field, 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and 7-of-8 from the free throw line in 32 minutes of action. To complete her performance Lucas added three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Senior Dara Taylor turned in one of her best all-around performances of her career, notching her second double-double in her career. Taylor orchestrated the high-powered attack by scoring 15 points and dishing out a season-high 10 assists while only committing one turnover. The senior also impacted the game defensively, swiping a team-high four steals in the win.

Another Lady Lion to reach double figures on the afternoon was Ariel Edwards. The senior poured in 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 1-for-1 from downtown and chipped in five rebounds and two assists.
