Deadly tornado kills 2 in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Powerful tornadoes that swept across southern Oklahoma killed at least two people Monday, officials said.
A 76-year-old man was killed inside his home in Garvin County according to officials.
Officials have also confirmed another fatality in nearby Johnston County.
The outbreak occurred during the late afternoon and early evening hours Monday destroying several homes and other structures.
The cleanup began Tuesday morning with crews working to restore power to at least 3,000 people. Numerous roads around tornado-damaged areas were closed as debris covered roadways.
