3 fire victims died of 'thermal and inhalated injuries'
MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. -- A western Pennsylvania coroner says a 5-month-old boy, his grandmother and his uncle died of "thermal and inhalated injuries" in a Christmas Eve fire.
The Allegheny County coroner's office on Tuesday released the official cause of death of 50-year-old Linda Tschudi, 29-year-old Michael Tschudi Jr. and 5-month-old Gabriel Glikis.
The three were found dead after the early Saturday fire in a two-story home in Stowe Township near Pittsburgh. Authorities said the child was found on the second floor and the adults were found at the bottom of the stairs.
Relatives said the woman was babysitting the boy to allow the child's mother to go out to do some last-minute Christmas shopping.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
