2 taken to hospital after crash in Punxsutawney
PUNXSUTAWNEY -- Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday after a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.
According to state police, the crash was reported around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Route 36 and Elderberry Hill Road in Punxsutawney.
Police said a Toyota Rav4 went into the other lane after the driver became distracted and crashed into a woman driving a Jeep Wrangler.
The Toyota Rav4 rolled over on its passenger side and crashed into a utility pole before coming to rest on its roof.
Both drivers were taken to Punxsutawney Area Hospital and were treated for minor injuries.
According to police, the driver of the RAV4 was issued a summons for careless driving.
