School bus crash sends 4 students, driver to hospital
DAVIDSVILLE - Four students and a bus driver were taken to the hospital after a school bus crash in Somerset County Tuesday morning.
According to the Jerome Fire Chief Russell Miller, a bus that was carrying students slid off the road and into a pole on the 100 block of North Walnut Street around 8:15 a.m.
Miller said the driver and two kids were taken to the hospital as a precaution and the other two children were taken in for minor injuries.
The Forest Hills superintendent said two of the students and the bus driver were still in the hospital as of 1 p.m. He said they were expected to be released soon.
The other two students involved go to Genesis Christian Academy in Johnstown. The school told us both girls went to the hospital but we back in class within hours.
They said one student bumped her head and the other had a red mark on her face.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but Conemaugh Township police are investigating.
Miller said residents in this area could also experience power outages throughout the day as Penelec works to fix the pole.
