Police: ‘Voices’ told Punxsutawney teen to kill woman
OLIVER TOWNSHIP – A Punxsutawney woman is recovering after a teenager stabbed her in the shoulder at a home in Oliver Township.
State police in Punxsutawney were called to a home on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m for a domestic altercation.
According to a release, the 15-year-old stabbed the 48-year-old woman in the shoulder with a steak knife and hit her over the head multiple times.
Troopers said the teen heard voices that told him to kill the woman.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, and the teen was taken to Children’s Hospital pending a mental health evaluation.
The teen faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
State police in Punxsutawney are investigating.
