Police investigate inmate death at SCI Huntingdon
HUNTINGDON, Pa. - State police are investigating an inmate death that happened Friday at SCI Huntingdon.
According to SCI Huntingdon Superintendent Kevin Kauffman, corrections officers found 44-year-old Steven Fauntleroy hanging in his cell during a routine check just before 5 p.m. Friday.
Fauntleroy was taken to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor half an hour later, according to Kauffman.
Fauntleroy was serving an 18- to 40-year sentence for a conviction of third-degree murder in Philadelphia in 2007.
He had been incarcerated at SCI Huntingdon since June 18, 2007.
