Jefferson County man accused of abusing 2 children, woman
PUNXSUTAWNEY –- A Jefferson County man is facing multiple charges after being accused of abusing two children and a woman over a five-year period, police said.
Dana Cessna, 36, of Creekside, is charged with 101 counts of strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
According to a criminal complaint, the abuse took place between 2013 and 2017, and involved a 10-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman at a house in the 500 block of Greshock Road in Young Township.
Police said they launched an investigation in March after learning of a ChildLine incident at the house.
The girl told police Cessna choked her, and had hit her and the boy in the past. The complaint said the woman suffered similar abuse.
The boy said Cessna also had kicked him, and that he witnessed Cessna physically abusing the girl and woman, the complaint said.
The girl also told police Cessna makes "meth" inside the residence in the basement and she had witnessed it.
The woman resides at a new location along with the 14-year-old boy while the 10-year-old girl is currently in protective custody. She told police she is “scared for her life” and for the boy because of Cessna.
She indicated the boy is a high-functioning autistic child and protects Cessna due to him not knowing any better, the complaint said.
The woman said she met Cessna in November 2013, shortly after they both began their drug usage, and the abuse began in July 2014.
The woman said Cessna began to "cook" methamphetamine in the basement of the residence on Punxsutawney in November 2016.
