Cantorna defeats Parks Miller for Democratic nod as Centre County district attorney
BELLEFONTE - Centre County lawyer Bernie Cantorna defeated the incumbent county district attorney by a decisive margin in the Democratic primary Tuesday night.
Cantorna, who has been practicing law in Centre County for 18 years, will have his name on the ballot on the Democratic side in November.
According to his campaign page, Cantorna ran for the office to "restore public trust in fair trials and even-handed law enforcement."
Parks Miller was seeking her third team as the county's top prosecutor.
Although the incumbent lost the primary, Parks Miller could still appear on the November ballot if she won the Republican side via write-in votes. Those votes will be tallied at a later date.
