2 Somerset men injured when pickup truck strikes embankment, rolls over
LINCOLN TOWNSHIP – Two Somerset men were injured and taken to the hospital Monday after their vehicle crashed and rolled over on its roof.
State police in Somerset said Allen Barnett, 20, was traveling north on Critchfield Road around 7 p.m. when he lost control of his Ford Ram 1500 pickup truck.
Police said Barnett failed to negotiate a left curve, gunned the throttle and struck an embankment in the southbound lane.
After striking the embankment, police said the truck rolled over approximately two times and landed on its roof in the incoming lane.
Barnett and his passenger, Gregory Beggs, 22, suffered unknown injuries, according to police.
Both were taken to Conemaugh Memprial Medical Center in Johnstown.
Police said neither man was wear a seat belt.
