1 taken to hospital after 3-vehicle crash involving 2 tractor-trailers in Elk County
HIGHLAND TOWSNHIP – One person was taken to a hospital after surviving a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers and a car Tuesday in Elk County.
Highland Township Fire Chief Bill Edinger said the driver of one tractor-trailer that went over a bank injured his shoulder and was taken to UPMC Kane for treatment.
The driver of the car suffered a small laceration on her hand, but did not require treatment. The driver of the other tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash that happened around 9:18 a.m.
One tractor-trailer spilled plastic tubes. Crews are working to clean up debris now.
Officials expect Route 948 from Ridgway to Route 66 near Nansen to be closed for at least another six hours.
A hazmat response team from New York is assisting.
