JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Thanks to a state transportation grant, a natural gas pumping station is to be built in Johnstown’s Woodvale neighborhood.

CamTran is to switch from diesel to natural gas vehicles.

This move is to save the bus company more than 300 percent in fuel costs.

“This is all new technology, we’re on the cutting edge now because of all the natural gas exploration going on (in) Pennsylvania with Marcellus gas, it’s the wave of the future,” said CamTran Chairman Ed Cernic Jr.

The pumping station is to be located at the Cambria County Transit authority headquarters on Maple Avenue and is to be available to anyone with a natural gas vehicle.
