JOHNSTOWN -- Bishop McCort senior Haley Thomas made her college decision official Tuesday, signing to play for Saint Francis University.
Thomas has led the Crushers to back-to-back Laurel Highlands Conference championships and is on pace to become the program's all-time leading scorer later this season.
One of the reasons Thomas chose to play for head coach Joe Haigh and the Red Flash is because of their up-tempo offense.
“I chose St. Francis because I believe that it provides me with the best opportunity to excel as a student-athlete at the collegiate level," Thomas said.
"I love the style and pace of the game that Coach Haigh has developed."
Last season Thomas scored her 1,000th point and currently sits fifth in school history with 1,244 points. Patty Bradley (’80) holds the record with 1,685 points.
