ALTOONA -- Altoona Area High School is kicking off the season with new head coach Nick Felus.

The Penn Cambria grad takes over the Mountain Lions' program after coaching at Coatesville High School, outside Philadelphia.

Felus is tasked with turning around a program that won three games last season in the always tough WPIAL.

Altoona returns several playmakers which should suit the offensive-minded coach well in his first season.

"We're going to try to run as many plays as we can," Felus told 6 Sports.

"We're going to play with tempo, we're going to switch the formations up here and there. We're also going to run the football. Sometimes people say we're a spread offense but we're not, we're multiple. We are still going to run the ball between the tackles and we're still going to run the ball downhill."
