JULY FOURTH BOX OFFICE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It's magic versus Arnold at the nation's movie theaters this holiday weekend. "Magic Mike XXL" is taking an early lead in July Fourth weekend ticket sales. Channing Tatum stars in the male-stripper sequel, which goes head-to-head with "Terminator Genisys." Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his signature role, in the fifth installment of the Terminator sci-fi franchise. Both films are trying to knock "Jurassic World" out of the top spot. Pixar's "Inside Out" is another holdover that could do well against the two new films. This year's Independence Day weekend should be much better than last year for Hollywood, which was one of the worst in decades.

TRUMP-FALLOUT

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The show will go on for 51 beauty queens whose TV future hung in the balance after controversial comments made by Donald Trump. The Reelz channel has picked up the Miss USA pageant, saying the event is "an integral part of American tradition." Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard says Donald Trump's comments about Mexican immigrants were incredibly insensitive and wrong, but the event is "non-political." He says the licensing fee the channel negotiated with the pageant ensures Trump will not profit from the event. Reelz reaches about 70 million viewers.

HULK HOGAN SEX VIDEO TRIAL POSTPONED

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The civil trial over the Hulk Hogan sex tape is on temporary hold. The former pro-wrestler is suing the website Gawker and the trial had been scheduled to begin Monday. But yesterday a federal appeals court in Florida issued a procedural opinion regarding trial rules. It said some defense motions had been filed too close to the scheduled start date. Hogan is suing for $100 million after Gawker released parts of a sex video involving him and Heather Cole, the ex-wife of Hogan's one-time friend and radio show host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. Gawker says Hogan talked in detail about his sex life before the video's release, which made the story newsworthy. No new trial date has been set.
